Lecture

The teaching focus of the research group extends from the structure to the pragmatic use of language, mainly of German. Thereby, the semantics-pragmatics interface constitutes our core theoretical interest. We also focus on methodological issues such as:

• experimental linguistics (especially experimental pragmatics)
• statistics for linguistic research (especially Bayesian statistics)
• research based on linguistic corpora.

In addition to standard curricular activities, we provide reading groups to various topics of scholarly interest; we organize guest lectures by scholars of high international standing as well as summer schools targeting advanced students.
